Harry Franck’s journey down the length of Mexico to Guatemala until Honduras was quite a very interesting experience for the readers. He managed to put into writing his observations and experiences as he met with the locale and mingled with them. The book is like a travel through time in Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras. It will help readers see these places backward and how they were during 1916.

Frank has written describing his adventure on a distant manner. But he has written his keen observations to the culture, his interactions, his experiences, the downsides of his tramping and the positive feel of it. His stories in the book talks about seventy percent of his experience in Mexico, 10 percent of his travel in Guatemala, and the rest to his unforgettable adventure in Honduras. How Frank describes Guatemala and Honduras made him sound like he enjoyed being in these countries but he has never lose his aura of superiority over the native people.

You can’t get the much needed tips from the book though because it has been written years ago. The lodging and the restaurants and hotel accommodations may no longer exist. But it is still considered a good read as you can compare what the places were on 1916 and how they are right now.
