Semana Santa (Holy Week) is an exciting time in Guatemala, full of festivities and traditions. We've put together some resources that we hope will be useful for teachers, educators, homeschoolers, and anyone else who might be able to use them.

Semana Santa Powerpoints

In this section, we've put together a couple of powerpoints that you may find useful showing to a class, or perhaps assigning as homework to do some research. It is based on the Semana Santa 101 book, and would benefit from your explanation, but can also be used independently by students.

We've embedded the Slideshare version here so that you can view it without downloading the file, as it's rather large. All online viewers distort the file just a bit (nothing major) so if you can, it's better to download.

Students not quite up to designing their own alfombras? Not to worry, these Guatemala Coloring Pages of Alfombras will introduce them to alfombras. If your students are more advanced, they can design their own alfombra using the outlines above, or on Word or another program.

This section has 3 types of coloring pages - the first is a basic alfombra Guatemala coloring page, the second is a color-by-number with recommended colors, and the third is color by number, but the students can choose their own colors. Click the image to download the pdf file.
