We've stayed at the Quinta Real just about every time we go to Guatemala. We've stayed anywhere from 2 to 5 days there and loved it each time. It is a beautiful hotel, sitting in the foothills above the city. As night falls, the city below looks beautiful.
The rooms are very nice, and the grounds are lovely. Their restaurant makes the best black beans I've ever eaten.
Even when we've been in Antigua, we like to go to the City the night before so we don't have to get up so early to fly out. This hotel is about 20 minute drive to the airport, so if you're more of a "last minute" person, it may not be your best choice. Their restaurant likely won't be open if you fly out really early, either, but other than that, I highly recommend it.
